Special Olympics Texas Fall Classic
Special Olympics Texas provides sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
The Fall Classic involves 1,500 athletes from across Texas, plus coaches, family members, and spectators. Junior League volunteers will serve on the organizing committee for the event. The organizing committee will have biweekly meetings starting in July leading up to the event in October.
During the Fall Classic, League volunteers will work as event timers, stagers, awards presenters and announcers at the five different sports venues and help coordinate activities related to the Victory Dance, Athletes Village, meals and decorations. Volunteers will receive training on the event and work with the athletes prior to start of the Fall Classic.
